Thinus Mathee is a photographer and educator and has been teaching photography at the Vaal University of Technology in South Africa for the past 28 years. His current interest in photography includes capturing the wider space in the panoramic format and intimate moments of people and things that he interacts with. His personal photography captures moments of visual experiences that are simply an immediate and considered response to what he is presented with at that moment. The equanimity between framed objects, the light and the point of view at that moment transcends the typical decision making nature of the photographic craft and becomes an almost spiritual manifestation, devoid of human pride.
His works have been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions and published nationally and internationally.
